Coaching on Values and Beliefs What are values and beliefs, and why are they so important? A value is an underlying, guiding principle or belief. We all have values, and they are unique to each individual. Values affect us at the deepest, subconscious level. Each judgement we make is based upon our values. Our every thought, expectation and action is a direct result of our beliefs. Because they shape the direction of our lives, it is both insightful and useful to uncover our beliefs. Beliefs are often established in childhood, and projected forwards onto new and current situations. The good news is that these beliefs can be changed and turned around, by reprogramming the subconscious mind.
